I just found out why I (too) never saw the down arrow.
I use Windows Color Scheme similar to [High Contrast Black]
(white letters on black background).
This makes the (black) down arrow invisible.

Is there a way that when you get new mail that it automatically be
displayed in the current conversation you currently have going on?
Instead of seeing the new message (next toy your inbox word on the
left hand side), then clicking on that then opening that conversation
again?
I would like to limit the addresses from which an account can receive
e-mail. For example I want to list the 4 addresses that I will accept
messages from and all other messages will be refused. Can I do this??
thanks
My understanding is that the most recent messages appear at the top of
the stack in the conversation view. But recently the order is

recent at the bottom. Any way to fix this? Thanks.
...and before you even think it, no i'm not trashing even part of a

Is is possible to create a filter that will be applied when an e-mail
is from one of many recipients. For instance I would like one filter
to be applied when the e-mail is coming from [email address] or
[email address].
This isn't so much a question as a suggestion:

Occasionally when I return to the main inbox page to see my emails, it
will display something like "1-50 of 60" when I have 78 unread
messages and 86 total emails. If I refresh the page by clicking the
inbox link the number always corrects itself. I just thought this
seemed like a quirky bug.
Hello,
When I read an email in my inbox, then apply a label and archive it,
it disappears. I found it in "all mail" but it does not end up in the
label box that I assigned it. To me, the whole point of labeling and
archiving is so that certain msgs are easily and quickly located.
