Blackberry Curve (8830) on Verizon and also utilizing BES through my
employer. Downloaded & installed the GMail for Mobile application and
I can access my GMail account and read messages, but messages read on
the BB are eventually marked as Unread at the next refresh and any
attempts to delete a message from the BB fail (message reappears at
next refresh).
GMail account is enabled for IMAP, and disabled for POP3 (was
initially enabled for POP3, but have since disabled in my
troubleshooting efforts).
Thanks for posting. How long have you been using the app? Did this
issue just recently start happening?
Could you try uninstalling and then re-installing the latest version
of the app?
General instructions for uninstalling are here:

Thanks for the quick reply... but it seems my post may have been in
haste, and that I just needed to let the POP3 disablement 'percolate'
for a while before things started working correctly. I can now delete
messages from the BB and they *stay* deleted following a refresh -
they are also deleted from the gmail account when I check from a
normal web browser session.
So maybe add that to the list of things for folks to check -- just
having IMAP enabled isn't sufficient, you must also *disable* POP3 for
the two-way sync to work correctly.

Over this weekend it resumed it's previous annoying behavior...
deletes and marking items read on the BlackBerry have no effect on the
actual GMail inbox, and at next synch/refresh all are brought back to
life as it were. I'm running the latest version of the GMail app
(v1.5.1.1090), and I've uninstalled & reinstalled it at least twice.

Thanks for updating this thread, Jonathan Kelly. Can you reply with
the exact steps you took to reproduce this issue?
Also, regarding your comment about IMAP or POP, you actually don't
need to have IMAP or POP enabled for the app. It just works naturally
on its own. :)
